Heike @ Mind your Brain is proud to offer Cognitive Rehabilitation Treatment within her ‘Practice of Professional Psychological Services’.  Services include therapeutic care, emotional counselling, and education for:

  • cognitive aging/ cognitive health
  • people with acquired brain injury.

In general, Cognitive Rehabilitation refers to a set of non-invasive and evidence-based techniques and interventions intended to alleviate cognitive (e.g. memory) difficulties by improving performance in cognitive and functional areas, thereby improving a client’s quality of life.

Acquired Brain Injury

Conditions in which Cognitive Rehabilitation Principles can be and have been utilized successfully include:

  1. Traumatic Brain Injury
  2. Brain Tumor
  3. Chemobrain
  4. Anoxic Brain Injury (e.g. drowning)
  5. Encephalopathy

Cognitive Aging

Conditions in which Cognitive Rehabilitation Principles can be and have been successfully utilized:

  1. Pathological Aging (dementia, mild cognitive impairment)
  2. Neurodegenerative Diseases (e.g. Parkinson's Disease, Multiple Sclerosis)
  3. Medical/ Neurological conditions (e.g. Stroke)
  4. Healthy Cognitive Aging
